- HuntYour GPU rolls billions of random numbers, looking for one lucky hash.
- CatchLand a hash below the target and you hold a proof of work: rare, and impossible to fake.
- ClaimThe contract checks your proof and the kitten is yours. Then the hunt starts over for everyone.

Nap room
napping cats get paid: 60% of every new birthConnect a wallet to put your cats down for a nap.
No cats yet. Go hunting.
Longer naps earn a bigger share. Claim your rent whenever you like. A napping cat stays put (no selling, no sending, no early wake-up), and it keeps earning after the nap ends until you wake it. "Longer nap" upgrades the term and pays out what's waiting first.
$YARN
—3,200,000 $YARN went into the pool with 0 HYPE, and that position is locked: the hook has no way to pull it out. Trading waits for cat #333. For the first two minutes every swap pays 33.3%; after that the fee sits at 1.5% for good. From then on, 30% of every birth buys $YARN off the market and burns it.
Anyone can press these two buttons, and the coins can only go where the contracts say. Flush birth fees sends what the last births left behind (30% to the buyback, 10% to the team); it also happens on its own every 9 births. Run buyback spends that HYPE on $YARN and burns it, up to 1 HYPE every 12 seconds.
Unravel a cat
turn a cat into fresh $YARNGuide
from zero to your first cat- Grab a walletRabby, MetaMask or the built-in quick wallet, on HyperEVM, with a little HYPE for one cat and gas.
- Start huntingPick GPU (way faster than CPU) and press Start. Your browser does the rest.
- Pounce firstEvery catch is checked for free before it's sent. The first one in wins the kitten.
- Nap or unravelLet your cat nap to earn from every future birth, or unravel it into $YARN once #333 is born.
What is proof of work?
It's how Bitcoin is mined, pointed at cats. A hash turns any input into a random-looking number, and there is no shortcut to a small one: you just keep trying. The contract sets a target; a cat can only be born from a hash below it. Finding one takes real work. Checking it takes the contract a single step.
So nobody can conjure a PurrCat out of thin air, not even the team. Every cat in the collection is proof that someone's machine got there first.
The hunt
Everyone chases the same next kitten. Each birth's hash seeds the next hunt, so a single birth anywhere wipes the slate clean and all rigs hunt the next one from scratch. At most one kitten per block.
Difficulty keeps the pace near one birth every 12 seconds. Births in quick succession make it harder for everyone, and your own recent catches make it harder for you, so no single rig can hog the litter. If the field goes quiet for 4 minutes, it gets twice as easy.
For the curious: a valid catch is a nonce where keccak256(domain, chain, contract, keccak256(blockhash, prevWork), you, nonce) is below the target.
Nine lives
Cats have nine lives, and so does the collection. The 3,333 cats arrive in nine chapters of 370 (the last one has 373). Every new life costs 0.033 HYPE more and takes twice the work to hunt. Early hunters pay the least.
Where each birth's coin goes
- 60% to cats that are napping
- 30% buys back $YARN and burns it
- 10% to the builders
Before the first cat lies down for a nap, the nappers' 60% is added to the buyback. When a PurrCat is resold, 5% of the sale goes to the team, and the contract (ERC721-C) makes marketplaces respect that. Moving a cat between your own wallets is always free.
$YARN
3,333,333 $YARN exist at launch. 3,200,000 go straight into the Uniswap pool and are locked there forever: no wallet holds them and nobody can pull them out. The other 133,333 go to the team.
After that, the only way to make new $YARN is to unravel a cat (333 for a cat from the current life, half for each life older), and the buyback keeps burning it. More cats hunted means more HYPE flowing into the buyback.
Cat #333 is the key. Its birth unlocks the pool. Bots that rush the first two minutes pay 33.3% a swap; after that the fee is 1.5% and stays there.
Contracts
Questions
GPU or CPU?
GPU, if your browser supports it (Chrome, Edge, recent Safari and Firefox). It's hundreds of times faster. Keep the tab in front: browsers slow down tabs in the background.
What is the quick wallet?
A hunting wallet that lives in this browser. It signs a catch instantly, no popup, and in a race decided in seconds that matters. Keep only a little HYPE in it, send your cats home when you're done (click your address), and export the key if you want a backup.
Why did my catch stop working?
Another hunter pounced first. Every catch is checked for free before anything is signed, so a beaten one costs you nothing. If two catches land in the same block, the second one only loses a tiny bit of gas.
Where is the art stored?
On-chain, all of it. The PurrArt contract draws every cat and its traits right on HyperEVM. No IPFS, no server, nothing that can ever go offline.
Which cat do I get?
It's a surprise. Your cat is drawn at birth from the ones nobody owns yet, shuffled by your winning hash. Nobody picks, not even the team.
When can I trade $YARN?
The second cat #333 is born. That birth itself opens the pool, so the clock starts with whoever lands the gatekeeper. The first two minutes cost 33.3% a swap so snipers eat the tax; then 1.5% for good. After that, 30% of every new birth buys $YARN and burns it.
How much does a cat cost?
0.033 HYPE in the first life, then 0.033 more with each new life, up to 0.297 in the ninth. HyperEVM gas barely registers (well under a cent per catch), and a catch that loses the race costs you zero.
How does napping pay?
Each time a kitten is born, 60% of what its hunter paid is shared out among the cats asleep right then. A 27-day hibernation counts four times as much as a 3-day catnap, and your rent piles up until you claim it. You can claim any time without waking the cat.
Is my cat safe while it naps?
Yes. It never leaves your wallet: the contract just marks it as asleep, so nobody (you included) can sell or move it until the nap is over. Waking it up gives you everything it earned.
Why is my difficulty higher than the base?
Streaks. Every cat you catch makes your next one a little harder for a while, and a rush of births makes it harder for everyone. It all cools down with time, so small rigs always get their chance.
What happens after cat #3,333?
The hunt is over for good: no more cats, ever. Napping cats keep what they earned and can claim it any time, $YARN keeps trading, and unravelling still turns cats into fresh $YARN.
What can the team change?
Very little. There's no pause switch, no upgrade, and no way to touch the coins earned by napping cats or the $YARN locked in the pool. The team can tune the everyday swap fee (only between 0.06% and 5%), the buyback pace (at most 1 HYPE per 12 seconds), where its own 10% lands, the royalty (capped at 10%) and which marketplaces may trade, plus the art and texts until it locks the metadata for good.
Can I hunt on my phone?
Yes, if the browser supports WebGPU (recent Chrome on Android, Safari on iOS 26+). A phone is much slower than a desktop graphics card though, so for serious hunting use a computer.
What is cat #333?
The gatekeeper. Its birth opens $YARN trading and unravelling. The team gets the first 3 days to hunt it; after that it's fair game for everyone.
Can I hunt without a browser?
Yes. The command-line miner (node miner/miner.js) uses the same GPU engine and sends your catches on its own.
